Apologies for kind of forgetting about Substack. A few months ago I had one of those “What really is the difference between Substack and Wordpress, the blog I have had for years?” moments. I went and gave my Wordpress blog a facelift and this fixed a lot of the formatting issues I had been having, which was one of the reasons that Substack pulled me in so easily.
Now my Wordpress blog actuallly look nice and now my question is - do I continue to post to both spaces with different content, the same content copy+pasted or create something totally new for my Substack?
The past month, I’ve been doing a series on PAX Unplugged on my Wordpress blog (you can read the lastest recap of the convention here). Just like Substack, it emails these posts to readers…and just like substack, I rarely get much interaction in the comments or on the posts.
Maybe the days of interacting on blogs is dead and I’m just expecting too much? Maybe I should focus my efforts on one blog so I can easily link to it from my other socials?
What do you think, dear reader? Did you already follow me on orangerful.com and then you came here? Did you find this substack another way? Input and advice would be appreciated!
Substack is convenient for readers. I can have pieces hit my mailbox or I can scan articles in the app. I’m subbed to dozens and there is no way I would visit that many blogs.
I'd prefer you to keep using Substack...cause I have that and don't wanna get another service...haha (Since you left LJ land)
